Framed Dimensions: 9" by 12" by 1.5"
This new limited series of Wall Art is all about layers + patterns + texture. It combines patches of tie prints with wool appliqué + Fancy Stitches.
Each piece features a unique, subtle word to remind, inspire or guide – both now + moving forward. It's a great way to commemorate a special occasion, celebrate an achievement or recognize a milestone. Each word is open to interpretation + the significance can change over time. For example, 'enough' could be I am enough, I have enough, I've had enough, etc.
The foundation (background) is sewn from a patchwork of wool pieces, including some tie prints. Circles + leaves are cut freehand + each arrangement is one of a kind. Shapes are carefully sewn in place with a machine + enhanced with layers of hand-stitching. Free-hand quilting (doodling with the machine) adds another layer of whimsy and uniqueness. Hand-sewn embellishments add a final tactile layer.
It's mounted in a 1.5" wooden gallery frame, custom made in Québec + finished with a matte off-black stain called "soot".
Small enough + study enough to be self-supporting on a shelf or ledge.
TRULY UNIQUE – Jen only made one like this!
Care Instructions. Resilient and simple to care for, wool naturally repels water and stains. Soak up spills when they happen. Simply vacuum, dry brush or dab gently with a damp cloth to spot clean the wool as needed.
All Fish Eye Sisters products are specially designed and completely handmade by Jen in her studio just north of Huntsville, Ontario, Canada.
